Smartphones have revolutionized the way we do things.

This is a neat little application that serves as a checklist for getting your trip under way.

During our recent MVF meet up, we had a lot to do. Fishing in different States means getting different licenses, and all of the different kinds of fishing we did meant we had to be on top of our gear.

2. Time2Fish

This is a great free application that compiles all sorts of data that will be important to having a great trip.

It includes weather forecasting, lunar and solar data, sunrise and sunset times, and much more.

3. On My Hook

This application takes what Time2Fish does to the next level.

You get fishing reports, tidal information, hot spots, and it even allows you to tag certain fishing spots with GPS so you can get back to it easily.

On top of that, it has a species encyclopedia with over 150 different species.

4. Track Back—Fishing Edition

This one is killer for GPS tagging of that great fishing spot you just found. You never have to worry about trying to find where the honey hole is again because this application allows you to tag it, and save all the data for you.

It also includes satellite map views, and only costs $1.99. This is a very good application.

5. Big Sport Fishing 3D Beta

Hey, we can’t always make it out to the lake or the river now can we?

No worries, this is a free game that let’s you waste hours of time in search of the big catch! It may not make you a better fisherman, but it is a ton of fun and makes waiting around a lot less painful.
