Davy Hite Wins At Alabama Charge

Davy Hite is flying high. On Saturday, he took home the big prize at the Alabama Charge bass fishing tournament.

Hite controlled the field in his eighth career Bassmaster victory.

This latest win was worth a cool $100,000 to the winner, and, maybe more importantly, instantly qualified Hite for the 2012 Bassmaster classic tournament. The qualification marks the 14th time he has been entered into the big dance.

To say Hite dominated this affair may be understating the facts: His 84 pound, 9 ounce four day total was a full 8 pounds ahead of his nearest competitor, Bobby Lane.

This tournament was tough on everyone fishing in it. Changing water levels made all of the anglers in the field change their game—Hite just did it better than everyone else this time around.

Top 5 Results

Rounding out the top 5 was Bobby Lane in second, with 76 pounds, 9 ounces.

Denny Brauer came in third with 75 pounds, 5 ounces.

Kieth Poche came in fourth with 74 pounds, 2 ounces.

And Alton Jones took home the 5th place finish with 73 pounds, 6 ounces.

The Big Fish Award

The Big Bass of the Tournament came on the first day, and belonged to Jared Lintner. Lintner’s fish weighed in at an impressive 8 pounds, 10 ounces giving him the award, and the $500 bonus.

Stay tuned for a breakdown of just how Mr. Hite claimed his win in Alabama later this week.

Congratulations to Davy Hite from Man Versus Fish—You really earned this one!

See ya on the water…
