ICAST 2011: Lew’s

Lew’s made a big splash last year with the introduction of a quality line of casting reels and this year are introducing some new products to their line-up. The Lew’s TPS1 is getting an upgrade in line capacity and is available in both right and left hand retrieve and features their dual braking system which consists of both magnetic and  centrifugal cast control elements.

New to the line-up is the Tournament MG Casting Reel. This reel comes with a 10 bearing system, a magnetic cast control as opposed to dual cast control, is available in right and left hand retrieve, multiple gear ratios and will retail for about $130.00.

Another new offering from Lew’s is the Laser MG. This reel features the same ergonomics of more expensive Lew’s reels but has an 8 bearing system that weighs only 7.8 ounces and will retail for about $80.00.

Lew’s is adding products to their rod business with the Tournament SO rods. It is built on a high-modulus HM-60 blank. It is outfitted with micro guides and a skeletal reel seat and will retail for about $120.00. This series will be manufactured in several popular lengths and actions.

Another new rod series will be the Tournament Speed Stick SG. These rods are built on an IM-7 blank, use a cork, rear split grip and will retail for about $80.00.

See ya’ on the water …
