Molix is an Italian company who is known in Europe for quality baits and they are bringing their line of baits here. A new lure that Mike Iaconelli helped design is called the Lover. This bait is a vibrating bait that looks as though they took a deep diving crank and inverted the lip, shaved it down a little to make it coffin style and called it good.
This lure is supposed to have a lot more vibration than a chatter style bait and will come with either a single or a treble hook. There will be several colors in two sizes, a 3/8 and a 1/2 oz.
The Molix Supernato was presented at ICAST last year. It is a hybrid crank that used a hard head with a soft body, a frog style double hook, rubber skirt material as a tail and a diving lip. This bait was designed to fish like a crank with the added benefit of being able to throw it right into weeds and grass. There are some good color patterns within the line. The Supernato should be in stores before the end of the year and retail for about $16.00.
One of Molix’s crankbaits is named the Vario. Its design was the result of collaboration with the automotive industry. The wide, relatively flat head and back of this bait, along with the lip, is said to produce a variable swimming action at any retrieve speed. These baits weight about a 1/2 oz, retail for around $13.00 and should be in stores by fall.
Molix offers a spinnerbait named the Venator in a double willow configuration. This lure is built with a double density stainless steel wire, a flexible upper arm, a head that is painted and sculpted to look like a fish and has a hand tied matching skirt. These baits will be produced in 1/2 and 5/8 oz versions, retail for approx. $12.00 and should be on shelves by late fall.
