Hey gang, just wanted to drop a quick reminder on everyone that one of the annual events that we always look forward to is about to happen. The reel trade in event at your local Bass Pro Shops will be held during the Spring Fishing Classic.
Depending on your reel of choice, you can save a nice little chunk of change. We always try to get there the first day as soon as the store opens to get the best selection. One little hint here, it tends to be more efficient to know what you’re after before you get there or at least have your selection narrowed down to a few possibilities. This event does tend to draw a crowd so the sooner the better.
The other thing that we like to do here at MVF is take a little bit of time to see what the store has on hand as far as the new baits. They do tend to stock up prior to this event so the selection has been pretty good in the past.
I don’t know about you, but turning me loose in a place like this is like the proverbial kid in a candy shop. Truth be known, I loathe shopping so I always have a list prepared prior to going. It includes line, lures in different classes, and of course rods and reels. The reality is that we would sooner be spending time on the water then wandering the aisles of our local BPS.
At any rate, if you’re kicking around the idea of getting some new equipment, this is a way to make it a little bit easier on your wallet and recycle some of your old equipment. In my opinion, that’s a win-win!
