There are probably a lot of folks who have yet to take a new generation Pinnacle reel or rod for a ride around the lake. They have really stepped up their game in the last few years by producing good quality offerings.
This year they are introduce the Optimus LTE Casting Reel. This reel is intended to be a workhorse tool with a value price. It will come in three gear ratios to suit your style of fishing and will match esthetically with a lot of rods out there.
Speaking of rods, Pinnacle is introducing some new, technique specific sticks. The first targeted at square billed cranks. This 7 foot Perfecta Rod was designed by John Crews and features a parabolic action that is ideal for shallow cranks.
The next is a 7 foot heavy action Perfecta Spinning Rod. Don’t scoff at this until you’ve tried it. For jig fishing and skipping baits under docks, trees or other over-hanging goodies with a spinning reel, this stick will handle these applications nicely.
And finally, Pinnacle has added an A-Rig rod to the Perfecta Rod Series. This is the same stick that Paul Elias was using when he won the tournament that really started the whole umbrella craze. This rod is 7’11” with a moderately fast taper that helps with accuracy when launching the A-Rig.
