ICAST 2012: Spro

Spro is a name that has been synonymous with innovation and quality for some time. This year they are adding some new colors to their Bronzeye Frog series. Killer Gill seemed to receive the most attention but there are others that were designed to be more visible to the fish in murky water conditions.

Spro has expanded the color patterns in the Fat John 60, Little John MD as well as the original Little John lines which include new craw patterns and chartreuse shad patterns which have been producing a lot of fish lately.

The McStick 110 is getting a makeover in colors that will take you back like chrome/blue, gold/black, a bone, an Ayu and Spro blue. Most of the new colors will remind you of more traditional patterns that you have seen in the past.

Spro has also expanded their jerkbait line-up by adding the new McStick 115. The 115 was designed to run in the four foot depth range but can be adjusted by changing out the hooks. Initially it will be offered in about 7 colors and will be available soon.

The Aruku Shad family will be expanded with the addition of the 65. Smaller than the Aruku Shad but larger than the Aruku Shad Jr., the 65 will fill the gap in this line by providing that middle of the road sized lure that can be used for burning it through shallow water or ripped off the top of mid-range grass.

Finally, the Spro Baby Fat Papa 55. The weighting system will allow the angler to cast this bait for good distance for something of this diminutive size. The rattle is more subtle than a lot of cranks and should be productive in clear water. The Baby Fat Papa 55 is meant for the 6 to 9 foot depths depending on your line size.
