Andrew Upshaw claimed his first FLW Tour victory, and not too far away Andy Morgan did the same in the Major League Fishing Bass Pro Tour.

Dayton, Tn. – Tennessee hosted not one, but two different major bass fishing tournaments this weekend.

The final stage of the tournament went down only 7 miles from his home on Lake Chikamauga. And it wasn’t even close.

Morgan weighed in 34 bass (that’s not a typo) for a total weight of 80 pounds. The next closest competitor was Jared Lintner with 60 pounds, 7 ounces.

“I wanted to win one more tournament on Chickamauga…I wanted it bad.”

Andy Morgan

Morgan keyed in on one spot all day. Championship Sunday started off with rain and finished off with wind. The weather pattern pushed Andy to a backwater area known locally as “The Branch.”

No one else in the field got in on the area, and weather kept the local anglers out as well. Morgan was all alone to fish and make history.

His total of 106 fish for the whole tournament is tied for best all-time (Lintner also finished with 106 fish), and he weighed in a total of 224 pounds, 8 ounces for another record.
