ICAST 2011: Trigger X

Trigger X is a company that a lot of bass anglers are familiar with and this year they are introducing a few new baits to the their line-up. The first being the Trigger X Finesse Twin Tail Grub. As the name implies this is a twin tail bait with some two color choices that can be used anywhere you would usually use a twin tail grub. The tails on the Trigger X are a little bit longer than some of the other baits in this class which should provide a bit more flapping action.

Another finesse bait new for this year is the Finesse Flappin Paddle Tail Grub. This little bait has a grub style body and no appendages other than the one large, split spade tail at the front of the bait. The angler can choose to leave it in one piece or to split it to accentuate the action. Both of these baits have a flat bottom that helps then glide through the water in a natural way and both should be in stores soon.

Next up is the new Trigger X 4” Hodad. This bait is a tube style bait with a fairly solid head on one side for rigging while the other side has two small appendages on the side of the tube with two pretty long antennae style appendages on top. The top uses a double-wall construction so that it’s relatively firm while the bottom of the bait is a single wall so that it is soft and pliable. As with all Trigger X baits, they are infused with the company’s UltraBite Aggression formula.

Finally, there are two new worm designs being added to the company’s offerings. The Trigger X Paddle Tail Finesse Worm and the Trigger X Probe finesse Worm. Both of these worms were created using a new PVC type plastic that allows the bait when at rest to stay in a horizontal position. They also share the flat bottom design that channels water in such a way as to keep the tails floating as well as the UltraBite Aggresion Formula. The Probe worm is a straight tail as opposed to the Paddle Tail worm which has, not surprisingly, a paddle style tail.
