Dandridge, Tenn.– After jumping out to a lead on day one, Aaron Martins could not fend of Britt Myers and his 24 pound, 1 ounce bag on day two.
Nearly four pounds separate Myers from Martins at the moment, but moving into day three, the tournament is most definitely still up for grabs.
Myers was fairly quiet about his methods for catching bass (he declined to get into any specifics), but he did make mention of targeting larger bass, as opposed to the large schools that seem to be attracting the vast majority of anglers.
For Martins part, he spent the majority of day two trying to get his baits as deep as possible, where the large numbers of bass showing up on his electronics would have an opportunity to bite.
This is certainly not a two-pony race, as there are some big names in the top 10 on the leaderboard moving into day three. Dean Rojas is in fourth, Jeff Kriet is in sixth, and Ott DeFoe is in seventh.
With all of the contenders so close, and so many great anglers in the top 10, day three will prove to be very pivotal in the final outcome of this tournament.
