B.A.S.S. Announces National Team Championship

Bassmaster-Team-ChampionshipsBirmingham, Ala.- Well, looks like fishing buddies everywhere can rejoice. Yesterday, B.A.S.S. announced the launch of the National Team Championship.

Not only will teams duke it out for the title, but on shining star will punch a pretty big ticket.

“Not only will we crown the national championship team, but we will also provide an opportunity for one outstanding grass-roots fisherman to qualify for the 2015 Bassmaster Classic,” B.A.S.S. CEO Bruce Akin said in a press release.

The Format

The championship will be held in late fall of 2014, with the exact date and locale to be named later.

To qualify, teams will have finish on the top of a qualifying tournament trail.

After qualifying, pairs of anglers will go at it for the team title. Following the team portion of the event, the anglers will be split up, and compete for one coveted spot in the 2015 Classic.

This is sure to be a great addition to the tournament line up, and a great way to get teams across the country some exposure and opportunity to show their stuff on a bit stage.

As a fun bonus, one of the supporting sponsors are our friends at Livingston Lures.

So, if you think your team has what it takes, sign up for a qualifier and get out on the water. You never know, we might be seeing your name on a pretty important leader board in 2015.

See ya on the water…
