One of the best parts about summer for the fly fisherman is the ability to fish without having to gear all the way up. You don’t need to throw on your waders or layer up the clothes like you do in the winter time.
But you still need to protect your feet!
Wet wading is so much fun to do, but I truly believe that without the right gear on your feet, you will not have as good a time as you could.
Simms Fly Fishing Presents The Pursuit Sandal
The good folks who run Simms up in Bozeman, Montana have the perfect solution for the angler who wants to get his feet wet. The pursuit sandal is everything you we love about Simms’ boots, without the, well, boot!
The sandals feature non-slip, non-marking Vibram soles, a heavy duty rubber bumper on the toe (this is priceless when wading in a rocky river), and just about every porous surface on the sandal is anti-microbial.
What I like best about the sandal is that you hardly even realize that you are wearing anything. I’ve tried some other wet wading footwear, and they left a lot to be desired in the comfort department. The pursuit sandal is the first I’ve tried that did not leave me with marks on my feet from being rubbed raw.
I don’t care how good the fishing is, if I can barely walk the next day, it isn’t fun.
All in all, this is the bar none finest piece of fly fishing footwear that I have ever worn. Try it out yourself and see.
