ICAST 2011: River2Sea

Let’s  take a look at some lures from River2Sea that were introduced at ICAST. River2Sea has had a relationship with Larry Dahlberg which has resulted in several new lures for the company over the past few years. This year the big news is that most of these baits are getting downsized. No, not being eliminated but rather, made smaller.

To begin with, the popular Larry Dahlberg Clackin Crayfish will soon be available in a smaller size that has all the same action and great colors as the original but, you know, smaller! The new version will also feature a built in weed guard.

The Dahlberg Diver Frog will go through the shrinking machine and have a new size added which will be smaller. There are going to be some new colors introduced to round out the line.

The River2Sea S-Waver color patterns will be expanded by six which will include a couple of patterns that mimic common baitfish like gizzard shad.

Another lure that has been downsized is the Whopper Plopper. It is a Larry Dahlberg design that was originally intended for Musky that uses a kind of propeller on the end of the bait to make a plopping sound on the surface of the water. This is being introduced in a smaller version for targeting bass.

Other lures in the River2Sea line-up will undergo some color enhancements for the new year without changing the performance characteristics of the baits.

See ya’ on the water …
