IMG_2421So you’re looking for a jig with a little something different that the bass haven’t seen?

On top of that, you want something that can be used for more than one technique because the waters that you fish have varied structural elements that require more than one approach?

The Jackall Spade T.G. Jig could be the answer for some of these nagging issues. What makes this jig more versatile than many of its competitors?

Let’s run down a quick list of features that Jackall built into the Spade T.G. [Read more…]

Fishing the new Jackall Scissor Comb

We’ve been fishing some of the baits that we obtained at ICAST 2014 since we got back home. The one that we’re going to review today is the new soft plastic offering from Jackall, the Scissor Comb. This new lure is one that really doesn’t fit into any existing design category so we’re gonna do our best to give you the skinny on it! [Read more…]

Jackall TN60 Review

Spring time is always a blast when it comes to fishing. It’s one of our favorite times of the year. One of the genre’s of baits that we really look forward to testing in that transitional time frame as the water begins to warm are lipless crankbaits.

While the Jackall TN60 is not brand new, it’s one that we haven’t had the chance to fish until this season. But we gotta tell you, its been a blast testing this little bait. [Read more…]

Final observations: Bassmaster Classic

We wanted to do one more article to cover a few more of the offerings that debuted at the Classic as we feel that these products may strike a cord with y’all as they did with us.

At the Jackall booth we had a chance to see their first entry into the U.S. rod market which is in reality, [Read more…]

Jackall Super Eruption Spinnerbait

Jackall Lures has been making quality hard and soft baits for some time. We have reviewed a number of them and have come to appreciate the quality and innovation they bring to the table. However, they haven’t entered the wire bait market until this year with the introduction of the Super Eruption Spinnerbait. [Read more…]

Jackall Lures Aska Crankbait

We’ve talked about how effective square-billed, shallow running crankbaits can be this time of year. We have been testing one that debuted at this year’s ICAST— the Jackall Aska SR Crankbait.

The 60 has been available for a while now, but is joined by both a smaller 50 as well as a larger 70 series.

For our review today, we are going to look specifically at the Aska 50 SR. This little guy has proven to be an ideal bait for pressured fish. It isn’t too large to make them wary, and employs a different action than the majority of baits in this category. [Read more…]

Jackall Lures Iobee Frog

If you enjoy your frog fishing like we do, then you have probably tried every frog out there except for possibly one—the Jackall Iobee Frog. We first got wind of this product a while ago, but didn’t actually start fishing it until this summer.

Jackall is known, rightly so, for their innovative premium hard baits as well as very effective soft plastics. Everything that we have fished from them has been top-notch in design, quality and performance. With this history, we just had to give the Iobee Frog a shot.

Like their other products, this one did not disappoint. We were blown away by how effective this bait is, and know that you will be too. Make sure to check out our Facebook page for some pictures of fish who decided to eat this thing whole!

Now, to the review… [Read more…]

Jackall Boil Trigger

One of the booths at ICAST that we spent some time in was the Jackall booth. We have reviewed the Flickshake worm, their Tungsten Wacky Jighead and the Cross Tail Shad in the past. One of the new products that caught our eye immediately was the Boil Trigger.

The Boil Trigger was displayed both on a shelf and in their tank. The one in the tank was lying kind of on its side as if crippled or dying in a very natural position. So we had to take a closer look especially considering that was mid-July and top-water season was definitely about to get hot!

The Boil Trigger is a 4 inch, 3/8 ounce lure that has two body segments, a cupped mouth, a feathered rear hook, a slim profile and the finishes look top notch. [Read more…]

ICAST 2011: Jackall

Jackall has introduced some new products beginning with the new Aska 60 SR (shallow running) Squarebill Silent Crankbait. This little crank will run in the 3 – 4 foot range. It features a circuit board lip, fast wobble, belly hook ring that has molded stops on each side to keep the hook more centered and prevent it from getting hung up on the lip or the rear hook and will be silent. The Aska will come in approx. 8 colors and should be in stores by late fall.

The Jackall Clone Fry is a 3” soft plastic that has a split tail design that will lend itself to drop-shotting, Texas rigging or other finesse techniques. The colors are very natural and realistic looking. This bait is being produced in more than a dozen patterns and once again, should be in stores by late fall.

Its sibling is the Jackall Clone Gill 2.5. This bait is a realistic imitation of a Bluegill. It comes in at 2 1/2 inches which represents a spring time gill in size. The Clone Gill can be used as a bed fishing tool, on a drop-shot rig or on a wacky rig. There will be about 8 colors which should all be in retail outlets by late fall.

Jackall is showing its first frog offering this year. They designed this bait with a keel shaped bottom to facilitate walking-the-dog easily. The frog is molded around the hook, has a soft body, a welded front eyelet and uses rubber multi-strand legs as opposed to silicon. The availability of these frogs should coincide with the other new offerings from Jackall.

And finally, Jackall has introduced a new bait based on their very popular Crosstail Shad named the Super Crosstail Shad. This bait maintains the basic design of the original Crosstail Shad but adds the 3D eyes and holographic body cosmetics that make it much more realistic looking than the original. The unique patterns that the Super Crosstail Shad will be produced in should allow for use with more finesse techniques.

Drop Shot Fishing With The Jackall Crosstail Shad

Yet again, changing tactics pays off. This time, it was all about drop shot fishing.

When I went fishing the other night there were still some fish on the beds. I was watching with one eye as some folks were trying to get those fish to bite with no success. The reason could be that those fish had seen just about every lure known to man dropped onto their nests. [Read more…]
