River2Sea Bling Spinnerbait

I know that summer is coming at us like a freight train and we’ll be taking a look at a lot of baits that are designed specifically for targeting off shore structure but today, we want to look at another new bait from River2Sea called the Bling Spinnerbait. This is another Ish Monroe designed lure.

If you’ve been with us for a while, you’ll recall that the Crystal Spin from River2Sea has been our favorite spinnerbait for several seasons. When the announcement came that they were producing a different spinner, we had to get our hands on it and see what it could do as well as what the differences are.

We chose the Bling in 3/8  ounce with  double willow blades as this configuration has been the most successful for us over the years no matter where we have fished. So let’s get the Bling out of the package and see what we can see.   [Read more…]

River2Sea Ish Monroe Biggie Poppa Crankbait

Fishing square billed crankbaits can be productive most of the year due to the fact that there will almost always be some fish in any given system that stay shallow. A new offering from River2Sea is the Ish Monroe designed Biggie Series.

There are currently four different versions of this bait available which are the Biggie-Smalls in Stealth Runner (a slow floater) and Bumpin’ Rattle (a fast floater) as well as the Biggie-Poppa in the same configurations. For our review today, we obtained the Biggie-Poppa, Stealth Runner, which is 2 5/8 inches in length, weighs 5/8 of an ounce, comes equipped with size 2 trebles fore and aft and is their silent version.   [Read more…]

River2Sea Tear Drop Tungsten Sinkers

In the interest of covering all of our bases and making it simple for our newer readers, today we are going to look at our gold standard for dropshot weights. For the past few seasons, we have been and continue to use the River2Sea Tungsten Tear Drop Shot Sinker for all of our dropshot applications.

Now I know that some of you are going to read this and completely disagree with me. That’s fine, but if you’ve never tried the River2Sea, you really don’t know what you’re missing. You may find yourself asking, “Have you guys ever tried brand X?”. [Read more…]

River2Sea V-Joint Deep Dive Minnow

As most of you know, we like to keep our reviews in line with the seasons that you get a sense how we are using the baits that we discuss at any given moment. Today is no exception to that rule. Overnight temps have fallen into the mid-thirties around here and the bass are sluggish but obviously still catchable. [Read more…]

River2Sea Crystal Buzz

Crystal Buzz In Package

One of my favorite summer time baits is of course the buzzbait. I really enjoy catching bass on these lures and have tried just about every buzzer out there. Today’s review is on the River2Sea Crystal Buzz.

We have reviewed other products from this company and found each of them to be well-executed, thoughtful designs, not to mention they catch fish! With that in mind, I was eager to get my hands on the Crystal Buzz to see what it was like.  [Read more…]

ICAST 2011: River2Sea

Let’s  take a look at some lures from River2Sea that were introduced at ICAST. River2Sea has had a relationship with Larry Dahlberg which has resulted in several new lures for the company over the past few years. This year the big news is that most of these baits are getting downsized. No, not being eliminated but rather, made smaller.   [Read more…]

River2Sea V Joint Wake

V joint side shot

We have reviewed a few offerings from River2Sea and we have one more that really caught our interest, the V-Joint Wake. There are often times when you need a bait for fishing skinny water as bass are pushing shad into the shallows to feed on them. [Read more…]

River2Sea S Waver

S-Waver

Tonight let’s take a look at a hard bodied swimbait from River2Sea that we picked up recently – the S-Waver. We obtained the 168S in Rainbow trout. This bait is 6 ¾ inches in length and weighs in at 15/8 oz. The S-Waver comes stock with Daichi hooks that are sharp out of the package and ready to fish. [Read more…]

River2Sea Dahlberg Diver Frog

It may seem like we’ve gone a little frog crazy over here lately, but that’s just because it’s a great time of year to catch some serious bass on frogs. Lily pads, bulrushes, submerged trees and large weed and grass beds are all fantastic places to find big bass during the late spring. [Read more…]

River2Sea Crystal Spin Revisited

The other day when we went fishing to conduct our lipless crankbait cage fight, we were looking at the conditions that we had to work with and quickly running out of time. [Read more…]
