Union Springs, New York – For the second time in three tournaments, Jamie Hartman took home an Elite Series trophy.
Only this time, he did it in his home state and came from behind.
Every day of the tournament, he improved, until finally on Sunday, he overtook the lead.
He brought in 16-14 Thursday, 19-9 Friday, 22-2 on Saturday, and capped it all off with a 22 pound, four ounce bag on Sunday.
The Winning Baits
Hartman didn’t get fancy – he spent the whole tournament fishing two baits.
First was the 4.75 inch Synth Worm from our friends at Riot Baits, and the other was a shad colored crankbait which did not get named but is apparently no longer in production.
The Synth Worm was the green pumpkin neon color, and slung on a drop-shot rig.
When the wind kicked up a bit, he switched over to the crank.
The win was his second $100,000 check this season, and has to put him in the conversation for a possible favorite at the Classic.
