Hartman Does it Again, This Time At Home

Union Springs, New York – For the second time in three tournaments, Jamie Hartman took home an Elite Series trophy.

Only this time, he did it in his home state and came from behind.

Every day of the tournament, he improved, until finally on Sunday, he overtook the lead.

Blaylock Makes A Strong Season Stronger

Georgetown, Sc.Last week on Lake Hartwell, Arkansas pro Stetson Blaylock finished second. This week on Winyah Bay, he made it happen and hoisted the trophy.

In four days of fishing, Blaylock brought 50 pounds, 15 ounces of bass to the weigh-ins, which was good for a 9 ounce difference between him and the second place finisher Scott Canterbury.

Jacob Wheeler takes the overall lead on Day 2 of the 2019 Bassmaster Classic

Knoxville TN – It was again a Tennessean that held the lead on Day 2 of the 2019 Bassmaster Classic, but not the same one as yesterday.

Day 2, and the overall lead for the tournament, belonged to Jacob Wheeler on Saturday. Not only did he end the day 24 hours away from winning the biggest tournament in bass fishing, but he did it in a very strange way.

Ish Monroe Wins a Wild One on the Mississippi River

La Crosse Wi — In a tournament that saw four leaders on four different days, Ish Monroe’s story of victory was as improbable as one could get.

On the first day of fishing on the Mississippi River, Ish got stuck on a sandbar and couldn’t move.

“That was as stuck as I’ve ever been in a bass boat,” he said, “And it turned out to be a blessing in disguise.”

After freeing his boat, Ish noticed some grass and duckweed and went to work. “I ended up catching a solid limit of bass before I ever got to my original destination,” he said. The frustrating start ended up revealing a winning strategy. [Read more…]
