Daiwa Kage Rod Review

Daiwa introduced their Tatula series of reels several years ago beginning with the original Tatula 100 and 100 Type R. We’ve had every major version update since then including the CT Type R and the SV. We obtained the new Tatula 100 some time last year and have been fishing with it ever since.

There are times when big topwater walking baits are key to getting bites while other situations may call for something a little less boisterous. One bait that you can use that still has a decent length to it but presents itself with more subtlety is the Berkley Drift Walker. This bait comes in ten colors… [Continue Reading]

The Elite Series made a stop at Lake Havasu, but it was a unique approach that took Martens to the podium.

“I’ve caught them in California, and had them spit up full-grown blackbirds,” Martens said.

Indeed, many people were skeptical at the approach, but you can’t argue with the result. Martens brought home his first B.A.S.S. trophy since 2012, along with the $100,000 dollar pay day and the ticket to the Classic.

Whether you’re buying or selling the bird technique, it certainly worked. [Read more…]

IMG_2663With the water starting to warm, we wanted to spotlight one more jerkbait before we put them away in favor of other lures.

The new Livingston Lures School Master is one of the latest generation of baits from Livingston.

The School Master is a lipless, hard-bodied jerkbait that, like all the newest offerings from Livingston employs their EBS (Electronic Baitfish Sounds) Multi-Touch Technology. WithIMG_2588 spring here you’re probably doing some of the same things that we are in terms of making an inventory for tasks that need to get done before the fishing season gets into high gear.

One of those tasks for us is always inspecting line and replacing any that has seen a lot of duty.
