Mosley finished second at the St Lawrence river in July and the legendary KVD took home the trophy.

There was little doubt as to who would win the Angler of the Year title, as Martens had a solid points lead going into the tournament on Sturgeon Bay.

Detroit, Mich. — Drama was not the order of the day this weekend on Lake St. Clair. Instead, Todd Faircloth made steady, consistent improvements each day to take home his fifth B.A.S.S. career victory.
Faircloth brought a 22 pound, 2 ounce bag to the final weigh in. That was good to put him six pounds ahead of his nearest competitor. [Read more…]
Sacremento, CA—The Bassmaster Elite series strolled back into our lives over the weekend, and it was a young local who took top prize.
Described by Bassmaster.com as a “California native turned Alabama Elite Series pro,” Justin Lucas bested number 2 finisher Aaron Martens by almost 2 pounds to hold on and bring home the trophy. It was just his 23rd B.A.S.S event.
“For about 17 years, I’ve been dreaming of doing something like this. It’s cool. It’s just super cool,” he would say after the win. [Read more…]

Jason Christie put together a come from behind charge to win this weekend’s Bassmaster Elite event on Lake Dardanelle to win by the narrowest of margins. Four ounces of bass, and no doubt buckets of sweat, was all he needed to punch that ticket to the next year’s big dance. [Read more…]
Many, La – Welcome to the show, Mr. Powroznik.
You likely haven’t heard that name before, but it’s time to remember the name Jacob Powroznik. The Elite Series rookie made a late charge to best the field of pros at Toledo Bend.
To say it was smooth sailing though, would be a lie.
Sitting atop the leader board after Friday’s fishing, Powroznik couldn’t figure them out on Saturday. Add in the fact that someone decided it was a good time to perform a controlled burn that smoked him out of a great spot, and you have all the makings of a dramatic come back.
At Saturday’s end, Powroznik was looking up at Dean Rojas, and a 2 and 1/2 pound deficit.
Sunday’s word of the day was focus. Powroznik had it, and put it to work on bass taking residence on spawning beds. The reward was a 19 pound, 11 ounce bag—giving him a total of 79 pounds, 12 ounces of Toledo Bend bass.
With the win, Powroznik punches his ticket to the 2015 Bassmaster Classic.
Call him Mr. Reliable.
Arkansas pro Mark Davis grabbed fourth place, which gives him his fourth consecutive top 5 finish.
This type of consistency has Davis atop the Toyota Angler of the Year points race. These type of performances will certainly have people starting to watch eagerly.
After surprising nearly everyone at the 2014 Classic, college angler Casey Ashley locked up fifth place.
Turns out the Auburn student was not just riding a little luck streak earlier this year on Guntersville—he’s proving to the world what those of us who follow the College Series already knew.
This kid can fish.
He will undoubtedly be a staple for years to come, and as he continues to improve, look for this young man to be a future champion (yes, you can quote me on that!)
