Berkley, through its Havoc line of baits, has come out with some very good value priced soft plastics. Today we’re going to look at a new lizard, the Havoc Klein’s Boss Dog.
This lure was produced with the input of Elite Series Pro Gary Klein.
Some parts of the country tend to use more lizards than others because there are salamanders in the water who, during the spawn, are more than happy to raid nests and gobble down all the eggs they can before either getting run off by a buck or eaten. [Read more…]
Berkley Sick Fish

Berkley has been coming out with new baits to add to their value priced Havoc series every year. By enlisting the services of some of the biggest names in tournament fishing, the Havoc series continues to be innovative in design while maintaining a very moderate pricing structure for everything in the series.
Possibly one of the most anticipated new baits is the Skeet’s 4” Sick Fish Swimbait. We were able to get a couple of these at ICAST and have been fishing them ever since. [Read more…]
Berkley Trout Dough Series Rod

Trout Dough Series
It’s now trout season again around here so we thought we would take a look at a new product from Berkley. They have introduced a new series of rods called the Trout Dough series.
We obtained one for the purpose of throwing very lightweight jigs, split-shotting and drop-shotting small plastics like Berkley micro’s. I have to say at this point that we do not use dough style bait. Personally, I would rather chunk and wind all day with nothing to show for it than bait and wait just to catch a couple of fish. ICAST 2011: Berkley

Berkley introduced their Havoc series to the world at the Bassmaster Classic this year. These baits have now been out there for a while with the pro’s figuring out new ways to fish them. The Ike’s Devil Spear was originally designed as a flipping bait but is gaining popularity as a trailer and, turned sideways, as a swimbait.
The Bottom Hopper is a finesse worm that comes in two sizes, a 6.25” and a 4.75”. It’s a slender bodied worm with a flat bottom that helps the bait glide in the water. [Read more…]
